A Word From the Lord About Our Health

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1 ESV)

As of late my heart has been compelled and stirred to write about so many things regarding our health.  Especially as I have conversations with others about their health, the things I see posted on social media at times – especially the misunderstandings and at times down right lies – as they pertain to how to take care of our health. There is no doubt an extreme flood of information is out there – a lot of it not even true, and most of it misleading at best.

My heart is not to add to the confusion, but to speak only truth as best I can.  That is why I have been trying to be more diligent by using God’s Word, the Bible as my starting point these days before I attempt to open my own mouth and voice my opinion, as opposed to truth.

After going to God in prayer about what to write this week, I felt He was encouraging me to share from my own journaling from about 15 years ago.  This was something I felt I heard the Lord say to me at that time.  Disclaimer:  I am NOT a prophet.  But I also know, because God’s Word says so, that when we commit our lives to Jesus Christ, His Holy Spirit comes in and resides on the inside of us and brings spiritual gifts for us to use for His good and His glory.  One of those gifts is the gift of prophesy.  1 Corinthians 14:3 says: “On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.” In this context, the gift of prophesying is speaking the truths of God, not foretelling the future.

Today, I will simply share what I believe the Lord spoke to me that morning 15+ years ago.  I will use this as the base for other blogs in the coming weeks.  But for now, I do invite you to take what I believe God said to me and confirm or refute anything said here based on what His Word, the Bible says about any of this.  As the old adage goes: “eat the meat and spit out the bones!”  Here is what He said to me one morning when I asked Him why so many people, especially Christians, were sick:

The Lord then proceeded to tell me why. He said, “I see a dependence on things other than Me, like drugs and medications. I see fear, I see gluttony, I see manipulation and control and deception by the food and drug companies. I see irresponsibility in not taking care of the body, My Temple I gave and created for each child of Mine. I see abuse of these bodies. This abuse is caused both by the person themselves as well as inflicted by others—this too causes a lack of caring for their Temples. I see a lack of trust in Me to take care of them—not after the fact but instead of. For example, they will eat foods made by man because they are fast, easy, and cheap, rather than eating foods I made for them like fruits, vegetables, grains, and yes, even meats and eggs. They do not slow down long enough to minister to their Temples, they don’t slow down to spend time with Me. They are depending on so many other things rather than Me. Food is their god. Poor time management is a real problem. I also see slothfulness, laziness. All of these things hurt My heart and are not My plans for them. They are so engrained in the so-called comforts of the world that they no longer enjoy the pleasures I made for them. I made my beauty all around them, all things of the earth and sky, land and water, good food from these places and so much more. Simpleness has been lost—everything is go, go, go.”

In Closing

I welcome your thoughts regarding this word to me.  Perhaps God has spoken something similar, or even contrary, to you at one time, please share it with me.  As a side note, this is an excerpt from my book “Are You Being Deceived About True Wellness” under the spiritual health chapter.  There is more that He spoke to me regarding our spiritual health too.  My prayer is that you will take these words He spoke to me – not just for my edification but for others as well and see if any of this resonates with you.  Search the Bible to either confirm or deny what I feel He spoke to me.  But most of all I pray something here pierces your spirit enough that you will make some kind of positive change for your health and your life – the life that He died on the cross to save – for His good and His glory.

I give a whole presentation to show you the key differences between disease management and health restoration!
