Oh my gosh, these hikes just keep getting better! I have to say, I am finding that southwest VA is absolutely GORGEOUS!! This is probably my favorite hike to date, and I know I keep saying that — but truly, ALL of the AT has been amazing so far! This outing I went with my friend Jennifer. We backpacked a total of 56 miles — over balds, up mountains, across streams, through the woods, towns and cow pastures, down highways and crossed my 3rd Interstate now on the AT — I-26, I-77 & now I-81. Visited a settlers museum, an old cemetary and dined at a restaurant for dinner one evening! Great, great hike!
