Book 3, Chapter 3 – Appalachian Trail – Bellvale 17A to Bear Mountain State Park , NY – April 7-9, 2021 – 30.9 miles

I’m finally back on the AT after one and a half years and the Covid restrictions finally being lifted, at least to some degree. The next state is New York.Ā  My hiking partner Rick and I picked back up where we left off at the New Jersey/New York line two and a half years ago. While the Trail in New York is much easier going than the White Mountains, it still is not without its challenges! But as I sat down to prepare this journal, I realized, that besides a few ponds, which were lovely, and some views of the Hudson River, this hike and the pictures were nothing but ROCK!!Ā  Boulders, rock steps — LOTS of rock steps, rock walls, even a couple of rock shelters!Ā  Yes, I do believe, after this hike, that our globe is one big ROCK!
