Several days after returning from Johnstown and Mom’s Memorial Service I headed out for a backpacking trip that was planned month’s before. Hiked with Charlie and a new (and one time) hiking partner Scott.
Unfortunately I got knocked horribly sick with a head and chest cold and so what was to be a 4 day hike ended up being 1-1/2 days on the Trail for me. I had absolutely no energy to make it up the slightest of rolling hills and we had some good climbs ahead of us the next day. So I called for a shuttle ride and came home.
I was so bummed — but as my hiking friends always tell me “the Trail will always be there.” So I still have about 35 miles to do in central Virginia before I have “untechnically” the southern half of the Trail done. Then I will start working away at PA. So only a few pics this time…
