Things don’t always go as planned…
I had the usual butterflies in my stomach as Bob, my shuttle driver drove away, leaving me to face the unknown by myself once again as I set out for my first of three 20+ mile days I had planned. Fortunately, the day was a beautiful summer morning with pleasant temps, which always helps with the morale. If only the Trail that was facing me right out of the gate was as pleasant – but it wasn’t, far from it in fact.
